So after years of playing games, I decided to finally put a genuine effort into developing my own games in my spare time. After years of tutorials on Unity, Blender, C# and others, I’m finally ready to release my first game! I have more ideas for larger games going forward, I just wanted to get something simple out there to understand the full pipeline and process. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to do this full time some day!

Preparing Steam Assets!

I’m not very good at drawing or creating 2D marketing assets. So! Instead of producing subpar attempts (though for this experience, I would have been ok with that), I decided to create a specific scene in Unity for marketing. I used existing assets and simple canvas assets to create all the “box art” assets required for Steam. I think they came out pretty well!

They aren’t perfect but I think this is a cool way for other game developers to create some of the required assets using the skills they already have!
